Describe the Apptronik Systems product/service in 10 words or less

Advanced humanoid robotic systems and components.

Tell us more about what Apptronik does?

Apptronik Systems specializes in developing robotic systems that can live and work with humans to make our lives safer, more productive and easier. We build really cool robots and exoskeletons and the advanced components that make them work. We have two primary systems currently in development.

Our two-legged robot can solve future delivery challenges covering the last 100′ in the delivery chain. The exoskeleton project enhances the ability of high performance humans (think Iron Man). Our current products include advanced series elastic electronic actuators (robot muscles), advanced control circuits, training and education platforms.

What inspired you to start Apptronik?

Apptronik was founded as a collaborative, product oriented company dedicated to offering the best robotic technology to industry researchers and developers for the purpose of accelerating the advancement of robot technology and delivering useful systems that will help change the world for the better. Decades of advanced research and development by leading scientists working out of the University of Texas Human Centered Robotics Laboratory (HCRL) produced amazing innovations that we recognized as worthy of commercialization. We spun these innovations out of HCRL to usher in a new generation of robots and robotic systems that can live and work with humans to make our lives safer, more productive, and easier.

What is your secret sauce?

Our people!

We enjoy visionary leadership, dedicated engineers working on their life ambitions, exceptional operational leadership, the A list of advisory board members, highly skilled assembly technicians, and energetic marketing and product team members.

How is Apptronik impacting the world/your clients?

One day, not too distant, our robotic systems and components will help to eliminate the dirty, dangerous, and drudgery from the human experience. We proudly choose to be a collaborative organization willing to share our components and discoveries with partners and customers around the world. Our objective is to accelerate the rate of development and delivery of useful robotic systems that can live and work with humans to make our lives safer, more productive, and easier.

What is the most important thing prospective investors should know about Apptronik Systems?

We are product focused from day one. Creating useful and productive robotic products is in our DNA.

We have been revenue positive since day one.
You will be amazed how much we’ve been able to accomplish with the funds we invested and even more amazed by what we will accomplish if we can raise the funds we need to more quickly achieve our vision for the future.

Has going through the process of trying to raise capital impacted your vision and strategy for your business? If so, how?

We have been fortunate to have a business model that made us revenue positive from day one. We have bootstrapped our growth to date but are currently in the planning stages for a series A round to allow us to more rapidly prototype to help us deliver advanced products to market more quickly. Also, we are greatly encouraged by the early reception we are receiving from the investment community as well as encouraged by the general interest in robotic investments worldwide.
