Three Apps Parents Should Know About
Being a parent is hard. Kids need an education, good food, good sleep and entertainment and in the first eighteen years of their lives, this comes down largely to the parents.
With schools integrating tech into the everyday classroom and most newly released entertainment products tech based, quick-learning children already have their fingers twitching over keyboards and sliding down screens long before they even enter school.
The following three apps can give parents a boost in the right technological direction for their children.
Papumba – Educational Games for Young Children
Papumba develops and publishes educational games for mobile devices, designed to help young children develop cognitively while playing with education applications.
They currently have seven different apps offering lessons on the alphabet, numbers and basic vocabulary such as animals, colours and simple first words.
The app has recorded six million downloads and 770,000 monthly users, so getting on board with your child is clearly a good idea. The app uses various techniques such as song, dance, colours, voice to involve the child in the learning process and have a parent enjoying the experience by their side.
Bluink – Parent-child Authentification Methods
Bluink is an offline password manager that lets its users automatically log in to anything without storing their passwords in the cloud. Users can store their passwords on their smartphone to automatically log into any website, application or machine wherever they are.
However, speaking about the hardships of parenting, Bluink is currently developing a Parent-child Authentication solution which will give parents control over in app purchasing made by their children, without the use of passwords that block them entirely.
Their research aims to simplify child authentification and provide a mobile solution to give parents the authority to allow or deny a login to a particular service by the child without the parent being physically present. There will be no surprise bills for in-app purchases made by a child.
YouTube Kids – Video Watching appropriate for children
Everyone knows YouTube. A video-sharing website where anyone can upload a video of almost any sort. With curious children, they too can end up anywhere.
This is where YouTube Kids comes in and saves the day. With curious minds scrolling through the world wide wide, YouTube Kids offers a child-friendly platform with a simple interface and an appropriate filter. This leaves the family free to explore anything they desire while discovering, learning and enjoying the available video.
Keep note no filter system is perfect.
