After eating regular food for several days which I had mixed feelings about, I literally ran to the door when I heard the delivery guy come through with my month’s supply. I had made my order for a month’s supply a little while ago and due to the dramatic increase in orders for van Koningsbruggen’s new enterprise, I had to wait a few extra days.
I think the curiosity got the better of the delivery guy, who asked if I was ordering pet food. He was a little weirded out by me telling him it’s a complete food replacement but he said he’d look it up.
Unloading the bags into your cupboard made me realise how efficient the entire thing is, not just in terms of time, but of space again. Bearing in mind that the entire waste output of a month’s supply wouldn’t even fill a third of a plastic bag’s worth of rubbish.
New Oil Dispensers
van Koningsbruggen must have got the message to replace the small ziplock bags of oil with something far less messy, and provides enough small dispensers for however big your supply is. They also stack nicely in the cupboard.
New Shaker
The new supplied yellow shaker I was less impressed with, it just didn’t feel quite right in my hand and the first time I tried to shake it I had loads of Joylent go all over the place, so be sure to make sure it’s sealed tight. I used a towel over the cap to help out with it. On the plus side, the advantage of having two shakers is now I can make two meals at once, and save even more time.
Tasting
I couldn’t wait, so I just mixed up a batch right away and didn’t bother chilling it, which is what I did with the yellow mixer. I ordered the vanilla flavour for a change, and whilst nice, I prefer the banana flavour which I’ll re-order for next month. Perhaps it was because it wasn’t chilled. We’ll see.
Lunch & Dinner
An impromptu call for something work and personal related came up, so I ended up having Japanese food for lunch and a hamburger for dinner.
