Could camden be the new home of creative startups?

Camden, at the heart of North London, is known for its alternative feel. It is famous for its pubs, bars and diverse food selection at the market. But could it also be place for new creative businesses to flourish?

We went to investigate this a few months ago with our wonderful film crew. And, with thanks to our sponsors Mailjet, we finally we have our video ready.

In the video we explored a few places in Camden including, Camden Market, Camden Collective, the Camden Town Brewery and Incubus.

Camden Collective is a regeneration project run by the business improvement district for Camden, Camden Town Unlimited. The Camden Collective provide workspace and training to help people into employment and in setting up their own businesses.

Camden Town Brewery has become one of London’s biggest breweries. They’ve come a long way these past few years, and managed to raise £2,750,860 on Crowdcube last month.

IncuBus London is an early stage startup incubator in the form of a London bus that has been renovated into an office. The bus has been based in Camden for the past year and now travels the country on tours and visiting events. IncuBus London have partnered with Camden Market to offer an incubator programme focused on retail and startups serving the retail sector.

The three month programme starts on the 21st September. Applications are now open for startups (including single founders) from food & drink, fashion, ecommerce and startups serving the retail sector.

If you’re a retail startup or startup serving the retail sector, and already have a minimum viable product, you’re ready to apply to IncuBus Retail @CamdenMarket here.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to test and develop their product/service amongst the area’s bustling markets and shops featuring some of London’s finest independent labels, artists and a range of street food venders.

With the partnership of Incubus London and Camden Market, they could lead the change in making Camden a remarkable place for retail and creative businesses.
